IAC III – Urfa invites you into a profound meeting point where astrology, archaeology, mythology and the living sky come together. Over four days, we will explore the symbolic landscapes of Upper Mesopotamia, visit Göbeklitepe, Karahantepe and Harran, observe the night sky with Rod Chang, and gather for lectures, cultural encounters and shared reflection.

Urfa, the heart of Upper Mesopotamia, is one of the most powerful symbolic landscapes in Türkiye.
From Göbeklitepe and Karahantepe to Harran, Soğmatar, Balıklıgöl and the old city, this region invites us to explore the relationship between sky, stone, myth and human memory.

DAY 3

Taş tepeler Göbeklitepe, Harran

Day 1 — Thursday, 15 October 2026
Arrival in Gaziantep & Night Sky Experience
Participants arrive at Gaziantep International Airport and transfer to the hotel. After settling in, we will visit the Zeugma Mosaic Museum and enjoy a local city tour in Gaziantep. Following dinner, we will travel to a special observation site with official permission from Gaziantep Municipality.
Rod Chang will guide us through the night sky with his telescope, introducing stars, constellations, mythological stories and the importance of direct astronomical observation for astrologers. With consecutive translation, we will spend a memorable evening under the ancient sky before returning to our hotel in Gaziantep.

Day 2 — Friday, 16 October 2026
Conference Day & Diploma Ceremony
A full day of lectures, presentations and shared reflection at the hotel in Gaziantep.

Day 3 — Saturday, 17 October 2026
Göbeklitepe, Karahantepe & Harran
After open buffet breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Şanlıurfa. During the day, we will visit Göbeklitepe, Karahantepe and Harran.
At Harran, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Önal from Harran University will accompany our visit and offer a short talk, bringing academic insight into the historical and archaeological significance of the region.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Şanlıurfa. In the evening, we will settle into our hotel in Urfa and have dinner.

Day 4 — Sunday, 18 October 2026
Urfa Museums, Balıklıgöl & Farewell
After open buffet breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum and the Haleplibahçe Mosaic Museum. We will then continue to Balıklıgöl, one of the most symbolically powerful sacred places in Urfa, connected with the story of Prophet Abraham.
According to flight schedules, transfer will be arranged to Gaziantep International Airport for departure.
